Sport's Injuries - Treatment for bruises

I have a knock on both my legs last Sunday during a Futsal session. I have a knock on my lower right shin, while sprain my left ankle. It is not a pleasant experience at all to have both legs injured. It is very painful and totally immobilized me.

What's important right now is to get it treated. I have tried to elevate both my legs in order to not let the blood concentrated at the injured spot, plus put ice at the injured area. I have even consulted with a doctor regarding the injuries, and am thankful that there's nothing wrong with my right shin. Still, it's not healing that well because the swelling has not resided. Since I'm living alone, it will be hard for it to heal because I need to be mobilize all the time. With the help of the Internet, I'm trying to surf for information that could help to provide first-aid treatment.

The following are my finding from the Internet and from family tradition treatment:

  1. Elevate the injured leg.
  2. Apply ice for about 30 to 60 minutes once or twice a day after the injuries.
  3. Cook an egg until it's totally cook. Then, wrap it with handkerchief or any
  4. cloth and apply gently on the area that bruised. Apply only after the area stop
bleeding. Note that the egg will be extremely hot.

Things not to do when injured:

  • Do not treat the leg straight away with any massage because it will worsen the injuries.

Of course, when it becomes serious, please do consult with a doctor.
